Hi, I’m Marcus!

The owner of Seed & Oak Counseling, and a licensed therapist passionate about helping couples, individuals and families navigate life’s challenges.

We all come to therapy for different reasons—perhaps you’re looking for change, seeking self-understanding, or just hoping to find relief from something that’s been weighing you down. What I want you to know is that you’re more powerful than you might think, and often, you play a big role in shaping your life’s outcomes. Sometimes, those outcomes don’t quite match what you hoped for, and that can be frustrating. Often, it’s about unconscious habits or old thinking patterns that need a little attention. My goal is to help you recognize your part in this process so you can reclaim your power, reflect on your experiences, and start crafting the life you really want.

In our sessions, I’ll take the time to really get to know you, providing feedback that’s relevant to you and your relationships. We’ll explore your thoughts and feelings together as they come up, helping you gain clarity and boost your self-awareness. While I use a psychodynamic approach, I’m all about flexibility, pulling from various therapeutic tools to meet your unique needs.

My journey in the helping professions started as a hospital and hospice chaplain before I earned my Master of Social Work degree to become a therapist. I found my work in spiritual care deeply rewarding, but I wanted to connect with people in a more long-term way, helping them navigate their lives at their peak and beyond. As a therapist, I bring both my professional expertise and my personal experiences as someone who has been in therapy myself. I’ve been on the couch, and I understand what it’s like to be a client. This journey has helped me learn a lot about myself and break free from patterns that used to hold me back.

So, how long will we work together? Just long enough to get you to where you want to be—because your life is waiting for you beyond the therapy room.
